Liverpool and Scotland idol Kenny Dalglish reveals he has cancer

Scottish Kenny Dalglish, Liverpool idol, announced this Tuesday (2) that he is undergoing cancer treatment.

Dalglish, who won more than 30 trophies with Liverpool as a player and manager, made the announcement on social media.

"As my unintentional social media post indicated, I am currently undergoing cancer treatment. Contrary to my cell phone use, the treatment is going well," the 75-year-old wrote on Instagram.

"Ideally, this would have remained private, as that is how it should be, but my poor technological skills forced me to do so. Obviously, it was not my intention to make this matter public, so I would appreciate it if my family's privacy and my own were respected."

Dalglish scored 172 goals for Liverpool in 13 seasons as a player, winning six English league titles and three European Cups (now the Champions League) during the Merseyside club's glory years.

He later took over as manager, leading the Anfield team to three league titles and two FA Cups in the 1980s.

Kevin Keegan, another prolific former Liverpool striker, revealed this Monday (1st) that he has stage four cancer.
