The Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC) informed that the credit line with cheaper interest rates for the purchase of trucks, buses, minibuses and road implements (equipment attached to trucks or tractors responsible for carrying the cargo) can be sought from qualified financial institutions.
Inserted in the "Move Brasil" program, the credit is aimed at financing vehicles manufactured in Brazil and seeks to modernize road and urban transport of cargo and passengers, with a focus in reducing logistical costs, increasing road safety and renewing the national fleet.
Up to R$21.2 billion will be allocated in loans. Interest rates could be close to 13% per year, the federal government reported.
The initiative, according to the government, also provides for a reserve of R$2 billion for the acquisition of buses and minibuses, in addition to R$2 billion for independent freight transporters and individuals associated with cooperatives, reinforcing service to independent transporters and urban passenger transport.

Items associated with the operation, such as vehicle insurance, may also be financed. as well, credit life insurance and commission from guarantee funds, as long as they are contracted in conjunction with the financing. These additional items are eligible for customers with gross operating revenue of up to R$300 million.
"The program will modernize the Brazilian fleet, reduce logistics costs, improve cargo and passenger transport, increase road safety and stimulate national industry. We are combining economic efficiency, sustainability and productive inclusion, with special attention to autonomous and cooperative transporters", stated the president of BNDES, Aloizio Mercadante.
According to the MDIC, financing conditions vary depending on the profile of the beneficiary.
For independent transporters, the total term can reach 120 months, with up to 12 months grace period.
For companies in the road or urban freight transport sector, the term can reach 60 months, with up to 6 months grace period.
For companies in the road or urban passenger transport sector, the period can reach 120 months, with up to 6 months grace period.
The program provides for a financing limit of up to R$50 million per customer, with no minimum value, and allows the use of guarantee funds, depending on availability, specific rules of each fund and the financial agent's policy.

How to contract
Interested parties should look for a financial institution accredited by the BNDES. It will be up to this financial agent to analyze the credit, negotiate the final conditions of the operation and forward the request to the BNDES, in accordance with the program rules.
The deadline for protocoling the operations in the BNDES system is August 28, 2026, and the deadline for communicating the contract to the Bank is September 28, 2026.
According to the Ministry of Development, the program may be suspended or terminated before these dates in case the allocation is exhausted. budget available.
