LIMP BIZKIT SAYS SAM RIVERS' DEATH TOOK A PART OF THE BAND'S DNA

Limp Bizkit have revealed that they are still going through a painful grieving process following the death of bassist Sam Rivers. The strongest statement came from guitarist Wes Borland, who stated that the band "lost a part of its DNA" with the musician's departure. Sam Rivers died in October last year, aged 48, from an undisclosed cause. For the members of Limp Bizkit, he was not just the group's bassist, but an essential piece of the band's identity. Wes Borland explained that it is still difficult to talk deeply about the subject without getting emotional. According to him, Sam was like family to Fred Durst, John Otto, DJ Lethal and everyone who was part of the group's trajectory. The guitarist also made it clear that Sam Rivers will never be replaced. Even with Richie Buxton taking over on bass in the current shows, Borland reinforced that his role is to help the band move forward, but not to occupy the emotional and historical place left by Rivers. Sam was one of the founders of Limp Bizkit and helped build the sound that transformed the group into one of the biggest names in nu metal. The band continues to fulfill a festival schedule in Europe and the United States, but the loss of Rivers continues to be felt in each performance.
