Limeira City Hall will sue the Federal Government for rope jump bridge

The City of Limeira informed, this Saturday afternoon (13), that it will sue the Federal Government in court "in light of the omission on the Skeletor Bridge", after the death of a young man there.

This Saturday morning, a 24-year-old woman died while practicing a "rope jump" activity on the Skeleton Bridge Trail.

The company that carries out the sport did not install the rope that was supposed to hold the young woman, who was thrown from a great height.

In a note, the City Hall claims that the responsibility for inspection, maintenance and access control to the Bridge lies exclusively with the Federal Government.

The municipal administration also explained that, since 2025, it had already sent letters to the responsible bodies demanding security measures.

These measures were carried out together with councilor Bruna Magalhães, who even camped out one night on the bridge as a form of protest.

But, according to City Hall, no concrete measures were taken.

After the young woman's death, this Saturday, the administration announced the legal process, stating that the continuation of this omission had become "unsustainable and unacceptable".

People who were at the scene filmed the fall. In the video, you can see them screaming when they see that the young woman was thrown without a rope.

The Military Police responded to the incident and reported that, according to preliminary information, the victim was participating in the activity accompanied by instructors.

People at the scene would have performed CPR maneuvers until the arrival of the SAMU team. But the death was confirmed at the scene due to polytrauma. The incident remains in progress.
