Mirassol lost to Lanús 1-0 on Tuesday night (26) in the Copa Libertadores at La Fortaleza Stadium, in Argentina. The bad result took the team from the interior of São Paulo out of the lead in Group G due to LDU's 3-2 victory against Always Ready.

Already eliminated, Agustín Medina scored the only goal of the match for the team from greater Buenos Aires against the mixed team of Mirassol.

The game
Lanús had control of the match the entire time. Even with the stadium practically empty due to the elimination in the fifth round, the Grenás started to put pressure on. In the 9th minute, Lanús exchanged passes at the entrance to Mirassol's area. Walter Bou attempted the shot through cover and Alex Muralha put the ball in for a corner.

At 21, after a corner kick, Mirassol's defense failed to understand and Salvio played the ball to Medina, who opened the scoring.

The second half was worse technically. Mirassol exchanged more passes than in the first half, but without scaring goalkeeper Losada. The best chance came from Lanús, in the 26th minute, when Aquino finished from distance and Muralha sent it to the baseline.

Next games
Before the break for the World Cup, Lanús will still have a clash for the Copa Argentina, against Instituto Córdoba, next Saturday (30). On the other hand, Mirassol ends the first part of the season against Athletico-PR, also on Saturday (30), at Arena da Baixada, at 4pm.
