Libertadores and South American: Conmebol announces draw date for the round of 16
Conmebol announced this Friday (22) that the draw for the round of 16 of the Libertadores and Sudamericana will be on May 29, one day after the end of the group stages of the two competitions.
The event will take place at the entity's headquarters, in Luque, Paraguay, and will start at 12pm (Brasília time).
In the Libertadores, some teams have already guaranteed a place in the next phase in advance, they are: Corinthians, Flamengo, Independiente Rivadavia-ARG, Rosario Central-ARG, Coquimbo Unido-CHI and LDU.
In the South American Championship, due to the playoffs being played before the round of 16, the brackets are still quite undefined. Botafogo was the first to guarantee a place in the knockout stage.
After the end of the group stage, the two competitions will take a break for the World Cup and only return at the end of July, with the playoffs of the South American Championship and the round of 16 of the Libertadores.
