Lenine expands the web of affections of the album 'Eita' in an authorial show made under the pressure of the artist's sonic identity

♬ SÃO PAULO - If Lenine intertwined the threads of affection in the web of the album and film "Eita" (2025), the artist expands this web of love in the show of the same name that arrived in the city of São Paulo (SP) on Saturday, May 30, after having debuted in Fortaleza (CE).
Sensitive by the audience's warm reception, affection especially significant due to the fact that the "Eita" show tour marked the artist's return to the scene and to life after a gray period in which the singer considered never stepping on stage again, Lenine seemed in full bloom and expressed his emotion in speeches addressed to the audience. But he held back the emotion so that the show was governed by music.
Opening with the off-screen singing of "Aos Domingos" (2025), heard while musicians Bruno Giorgi (bass), Gabriel Ventura (guitar), Henrique Albino (winds), Negadeza (percussion) and Pantico Rocha (drums) positioned themselves on stage, the script remained entirely authorial, emphasizing the sonic brand and identity of an artist in which the way a song is arranged and played seems to be as important or more important than the music itself.
In the first song with Lenine on stage, the song "Confia em mim" (Lenine and Dudu Falcão, 2025), the guitar with a percussive cadence insinuated itself imposingly. With a psychedelic touch, the arrangement of "Eu sou meu guia" showed that the musical director of the show "Eita", the band's bassist Bruno Giorgi, orchestrated a sound... under pressure, boosting songs such as "The Last Sunset" (Lenine and Lula Queiroga, 1993), whose wave broke on the beach of "Miragem do Porto" (Lenine and Bráulio Tavares, 1992), the following song, presented to Brazil in the voice of Elba Ramalho, singer who opened windows for Lenine's songbook before the artist gained his deserved place in the sun.
Lenine is a Lion from the north who came into the world in Recife (PE) 57 years ago. Without traditionalist lines, the artist's Pernambuco origins resonated, for example, in the singing of "Ciranda praieira" (Lenine and Paulo César Pinheiro, 2008), in the thump of the activist maracatu "O Rumo do Fogo" (Lenine and Lula Queiroga, 2025) - with Lenine exceptionally on the maracas - and in the evocative flute of the Caruaru fifes blown by Henrique Albino in the song "Meu xamego" (2025), with romanticism a little muffled by the sound.
As the singer followed the script of "Eita" with songs like "All of them together in one being" (Lenine and Carlos Rennó, 2004) - a number with rocker weight and ambience - and "Escrúpulo" (Lenine and Lula Queiroga, 1992), Lenine's brand became increasingly sovereign in the show. This didn't come as a surprise, as all of Lenine's albums and shows were always based on the strong authorial identity of the artist's music, generally with no room for approaches to other people's compositions. At most, there was the usual quote from "Chiclete com banana" (Gordurinha and Almira Castilho, 1958) in "Brazilian Jack soul" (1999) to salute Jackson do Pandeiro (1919 - 1982), one of the kings of Brazilian rhythm.
In the voice and guitar set, characterized by Lenine as a "moment of intimacy", it was evident that the lyrical song "Foto de Família" (Lenine and João Cavalcanti, 2025) had its grandeur attenuated in this block reserved for ballads such as "Paciência" (Lenine and Dudu Falcão, 1999), "É o que me interest" (Lenine and Dudu Falcão, 2008) - one of the high points from the perspective of interpretation - and "Light and smooth" (2018). Due to its relevance in the affection panel of the album "Eita", "Foto de Família" deserved more differentiated treatment in the show so that the beauty of the song was more exposed.
Among memories such as "Ecos do ão" (Lenine and Carlos Rennó, 2004) and the long-awaited caboclinho "Leão do Norte" (Lenine and Paulo César Pinheiro, 1993) and the 11 songs from the album "Eita", whose repertoire was entirely included in a script that featured the tune "Malassombro" (Lenine and Siba, 2025), the boi-bumbá "Boi Xambá" (2025) and the imperative "Deita e dormi" (Lenine and Arnaldo Antunes, 2025), the artist reinforced the political discourse through the singing in sequence of "Envergo, mas não quebro" (Lenine and Carlos Rennó, 2011), "The ballad of the crazy dog (Fere rente)" (Lenine, Lula Queiroga and Chico Neves, 1997), "The day we will make contact" (Lenine and Bráulio Tavares, 1997), "Rosebud (O verbo e a verba)" (Lenine and Lula Queiroga, 2001) and "Rua da passa (Traffic)" (Lenine and Arnaldo Antunes, 1999).
The stance taken in defense of democracy was emphasized, with humor, in the presentation of the band's musicians, some located on the stage to the right of the singer and others to the left, but all aligned with the same political position. And so, between the delicacy of affection and the firmness of the artist's ideology, the show "Eita" came to an end without losing breath.
In the encore, opened with the singing of "Beira" (2025) in a climactic number made only with the voice of Lenine and the guitar of Gabriel Ventura (the artist's partner in the composition), "O Homem dos Olhos de Raio x" (2000) preceded the hit "Hoje eu quer sai solo" (Lenine, Mu Chebabi and Caxa Aragão, 1995).
Always requested by the public, "Hoje eu Quero Sair Só" is a song released by Daúde two years after Lenine attracted attention with the album "Olho de Peixe" (1993) - signed with percussionist Marcos Suzano - and two years before the singer went solo with "O dia em que faz contato" (1997), an album that began to outline the authorial sound mark that Lenine, now renowned, highlights in the show "Eita" while expanding on stage the web of affections of the album and film of 2025.
