Leilane Neubarth announced her departure from daily journalism. The journalist went live on GloboNews this Tuesday (7) to speak to the public about her career.
"Just here at GloboNews, it's almost seventeen years, more than half of the history of this channel, of which I'm proud to be part. Before that, we already had a long career at TV Globo. I joined here at 19 years old, a young intern, who became a reporter, then presenter...", she recalled.
"There were a few generations of Brazilians, many people who saw me grow as a professional and followed me through different phases. And this relationship that we built, the commitment to facts, transparency, truth in words and in our eyes... This complicity would be broken if I did not communicate to you the new chapter that I decided to write from now on."
"After 47 years, I chose to leave daily journalism. There were thousands of editions, coverages that marked our memory... Difficult moments, historic moments, and also many inspiring stories. Journalism gives that rare privilege: it allows us to get to know people, places and realities very different from ours. And, in the end, that is what has always given meaning to my work. Much more than presenting a news program, it was the opportunity to listen, learn and try to tell these stories in the best way possible. So this is not, In no way, a farewell to journalism. Because it lives here inside me."
"From now on, we will see each other on new occasions, new projects and challenges... And I face this moment exactly this way: with gratitude for what has happened, and enthusiasm for what lies ahead. I take with me the memories, the learning, the friends I made and the certainty that daily journalism will be part of who I am forever", he concluded.
With more than 47 years of career, Leilane started at Globo as an intern in 1979. The journalist was part of the bench of programs such as "Jornal da Globo", "Fantástico", "Bom Dia Brasil", "Jornal da GloboNews", among others. More recently, he presented "Conexão GloboNews".
During this trajectory, Leilane participated in coverage of events such as presidential elections, the Olympics and other major historical events.
