Leila Pereira reacts to Paulinho's provocation in Palmeiras x Flamengo
Paulinho once again provoked Flamengo after scoring the goal that closed out Palmeiras' 3-0 victory on Saturday night (23), at Maracanã, Rio de Janeiro, in the 17th round of the Brazilian Championship. The striker asked the red and black fans present for silence in a gesture similar to what he did in 2023, when he also filled the Rio team's nets at Maraca while still playing for Atlético-MG.
On social media, Leila Pereira, president of Palmeiras, did not let the provocation go. She published a photo of Paulinho's gesture on X (formerly Twitter), with the sound, forbidden, a man and an arrow emojis.

In an interview after the final whistle, Paulinho acknowledged the provocative tone, but said it was a "healthy" attitude in celebration with the Palmeiras fans and his club teammates.

Flaco López, Allan and Paulinho scored the goals that guaranteed the visiting team an even greater advantage at the top of the Brazilian Championship.
Now, Verdão reaches 38 points in the competition, while Rubro-Negro remains in second place, with 31, but with one game less. The team is closer to the other opponents than to the championship leader.
