Left-back stands out among all Corinthians in 2026

Left-back Matheus Bidu, one of the pillars of the current Corinthians squad, especially in the offensive aspect, is, at the moment, the team's athlete with the most actions with the ball in the 2026 season (2,193) in 31 matches - two goals and two assists. On average, there are almost 70 actions per game. The survey was published by the Fiel Imprensa profile, on X, formerly Twitter.
The number 21 entered the field for Timão in games for the Campeonato Paulista, Brasileirão, Copa do Brasil, Supercopa do Brasil and Conmebol Libertadores. Behind him are right-back Matheuzinho (1,975), defenders Gustavo Henrique (1,897) and Gabriel Paulista (1,797), as well as midfielder Rodrigo Garro (1,724).

Matheus Bidu was hired by Corinthians at the beginning of 2023 from Guarani, from Campinas. The previous year, he had stood out playing for Cruzeiro in the Minas Gerais team's title campaign in Series B. His first season at Parque São Jorge was marked by more lows than highs, being a backup to the experienced Fábio Santos, who would end his career at the end of that year, in the greatest art of the season.
At the beginning of the following year, he was placed on the negotiable list and was even left out of the team's list of entries for the Campeonato Paulista. After the dismissal of Mano Menezes and the arrival of the Portuguese Antônio Oliveira, Matheus Bidu ended up being reinstated to the Corinthians squad and, since then, he has consolidated himself as a member of the team - a status he reached once and for all in mid-2024.
With Ramón and Emiliano Díaz he participated in the team's run in the Brazilian Championship that year (from Z4 to Pre-Libertadores). At the beginning of 2025, he became a reserve after the arrival of Argentine Fabrizio Angileri, in February of that year, but he regained his place in the starting team after the arrival of Dorival Júnior, maintaining this status to the present day with Fernando Diniz.
In total, there are 10 goals and 10 assists in 152 games for Corinthians, with 71 wins, 36 draws and 45 defeats - 54.61% success rate. In addition, there are three titles won: Campeonato Paulista (2025), Copa do Brasil and Supercopa do Brasil (2026), against Palmeiras, Vasco da Gama and Flamengo, respectively.
Corinthians, it is worth mentioning, is on vacation due to the break for the World Cup, which takes place between June 11th and July 19th, in the United States, Mexico and Canada. According to ge.globo, the Alvinegro squad will perform again at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava on June 25th, Thursday, to continue the preparation for the 2026 sequence, which still includes the round of 16 matches of the Copa do Brasil and Conmebol Libertadores, in addition to the Brazilian Championship.
On July 12th, Alvinegro will play a preparatory friendly against FC Cascavel, in Paraná. Officially, Timão will only return to play in the week of July 22nd, when they will face Remo, at the Neo Química Arena, at the end of the first round of the Brasileirão. Currently, Fernando Diniz's men occupy tenth place with 24 points.
