Actor John Travolta, 72, now also works behind the camera as director of an adaptation of his book. The feature film "Adventures in the Heights" is based on the work "Propeller One-Way Night Coach", which he wrote for his son Jett, who died at the age of 16, in 2009. The script follows a boy fascinated by aviation on his first adventure in the skies.

The film takes place in the 1960s and follows little Jeff, who crosses the United States alongside his mother, an aspiring Hollywood star. With little budget for the trip, the duo travels with stops in several American cities, until reaching their destination, Los Angeles. It is in this context that the boy gets to know different airplane models and makes friends with the crew and other passengers.

Although the film's central theme is aviation, the work also represents the golden age of Hollywood, when studios dominated the industry with grandiose productions and stars who became global icons.

The film premiered at the last edition of the Cannes Film Festival, where it also received an Honorary Palme d'Or. The award recognizes artists with a career relevant to global cinema and is presented as a "surprise" during the event.
