João Fonseca takes Casper Ruud to continue making history at Roland Garros
After his epic victory over Novak Djokovic, Brazilian João Fonseca heads into the round of 16 at Roland Garros, where he will face Norwegian Casper Ruud.
The duel between the two tennis players takes place this Sunday (31), no earlier than 3:15 pm (Brasília time), on the Philippe-Chatrier court, the main court of the French Open.
Ruud is the current number 16 in the world and reached the Roland Garros final on two occasions, 2022 and 2023, but both times he finished runner-up.
Top 15 on the way
If he passes the Norwegian, Fonseca could face another quarry. In the quarterfinals, the 19-year-old from Rio would probably face Andrey Rublev, number 11 in the ATP. The Russian faces Czech Jakub Mensik in the current phase.
