João Fonseca projects Roland Garros and says: "I'm more comfortable"

Close to playing his second Roland Garros in his career, João Fonseca claims to be increasingly "at ease" in the elite of world tennis. In an interview with the "ESPN" channel, the 19-year-old Brazilian spoke about the feeling of being present at the Grand Slam held in Paris, France.

"I feel more and more comfortable in the big tournaments. It's my second year, I feel more present because I'm playing week after week with these players. At first, I thought I was just a kid. Now I'm more comfortable, I'm in the top-30. Roland Garros is special, playing here is a lot of fun, I feel good in training", declared the tennis player from Rio.

"My playing pattern always has to be in my head, sometimes I will be outside my comfort zone. Knowing who we are playing against, seeing how they react and conduct themselves in the match, serving under pressure, identifying and knowing their own comfort zone. We have to change our posture a little accordingly", he added.

João Fonseca will make his debut next Sunday (24), at around 12pm (Brasília time), against Frenchman Luka Pavlovic, currently 40th in the ATP rankings. Number 30 in the world, the Brazilian is seeded in the tournament and could face Croatian Dino Prizmic (71st) if he wins.

In the third round, if both advance, João will face the legendary Novak Djokovic, a Serbian tennis player who occupies fourth place in the singles rankings.
