João Fonseca is still alive at Wimbledon and already knows the possible path to the final of the Grand Slam held in London. After beating Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut by 3 sets to 0 in his debut, the Brazilian faces Dutchman Jesper de Jong in the second round in search of a place in the competition.

Seed number 27, Fonseca is in the same half of the bracket as Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner. If he confirms his favoritism in the next matches, the Rio native could face some of the main names on the circuit before a possible final.

The third Grand Slam of the season runs until July 12th and brings together 128 tennis players in the singles main draw. Current number 1 in the world, Jannik Sinner defends the title he won in 2025. Alexander Zverev arrives as one of the main candidates for the trophy after winning Roland Garros this year.

How the favorites are placed
The main candidates for the title are distributed on opposite sides of the bracket. At the top, Jannik Sinner appears as the main favorite and could cross with Daniil Medvedev in the quarterfinals. On the same side is also Novak Djokovic, who could face Félix Auger-Aliassime before a possible semi-final against the Italian.

In the lower half, Alexander Zverev emerges as the main seed. The German could face Taylor Fritz in the quarterfinals and, in a possible semifinal, face Ben Shelton or Alex de Minaur.

If the switch is confirmed, Sinner and Zverev will only be able to face each other in the decision.
