Brazilian João Fonseca was defeated this Tuesday (2) by Czech Jakub Mensik in the quarterfinals of Roland Garros. Despite the elimination, the tennis player ends his participation in the tournament with a prize of 470 thousand euros (around R$ 2.77 million at the current price).

João lost to Mensik by 3 sets to 0 on the Philippe-Chatrier court, in Paris, France. Even with the defeat, the Brazilian achieved his best campaign in a Grand Slam tournament with the right to victory over Serbian Novak Djokovic in the round of 16.
If he had advanced to the semi-finals, the Brazilian would have received 750 thousand euros (around R$ 4.43 million).
