Corinthians authorized Jesse Lingard's trip to England. The attacker will embark in the next few hours to attend the funeral of his grandfather, who passed away on the 10th, aged 87. The expectation is that the player will return to Brazil and re-join the club on Saturday, July 4th.
This will not be the first time that the Englishman has left the country for family reasons in recent weeks. Even before the World Cup calendar was halted at the end of May, Lingard had already traveled to be by his grandfather's side during his delicate health period. On that occasion, the black and white shirt ended up being absent in the 3-1 victory over Grêmio, played on May 30, Corinthians' last official match before the break.

After staying in England with his family and enjoying the holiday period, the striker returned to Brazil last Friday. His reintroduction to the squad occurred one day after the other players due to logistical issues involving the return flight.
Another athlete who is not yet available to the coaching staff is Memphis Depay. The Dutchman, who said goodbye to the World Cup after the elimination of the Netherlands in the early hours of Tuesday, will not immediately return to CT Dr. Joaquim Grava. Corinthians decided to give the striker a few days' rest, as he combined his club season with national team commitments.
During the interruption of competitions due to the World Cup, the squad led by Fernando Diniz will have practically a month of preparation. During this period, Timão has already confirmed a friendly match against Cascavel, scheduled for July 12th, at 4pm, at the Estádio Olímpico Regional Jacy Miguel Scanagatta, in Paraná.
In addition to this commitment, the board is still working to arrange another preparatory game, this time against Maringá.
Corinthians' return to official competitions is scheduled for July 23rd. On that occasion, the team will host Remo, at 7:30 pm, at the Neo Química Arena, in a duel valid for the 19th round of the Brazilian Championship.
