Jesse Lingard is left out of the re-presentation of the Corinthians squad after logistical problems

Corinthians began work this Thursday after the holiday period, but not all players were present at the re-presentation held at CT Joaquim Grava. Among the absences was Jesse Lingard, who was unable to return to Brazil in time due to problems related to his trip back from England, according to information from Meu Timão.

The expectation is that the attacking midfielder will disembark and report to the club this Friday, as long as there are no new setbacks during travel. The player has been out of the country for around two months. Even before the break in the calendar, he received authorization from the board to travel and stay with his family after the worsening of his grandfather's health, who passed away at the age of 87 on the 10th.

Due to the situation, Lingard was also not available for the team's last official appointment. On that occasion, Corinthians defeated Grêmio 3-1, in a match played on May 30th for the Brazilian Championship.

The Englishman, however, was not the only athlete absent from the return of activities. Memphis Depay continues to play for the Netherlands in the World Cup and, as a result, has not yet returned to the club. The striker is scheduled to play this Thursday, at 8pm, against Tunisia, in Kansas City, in the final round of the group stage of the tournament.

Another player who will have his return postponed is André Carrillo. The Peruvian midfielder received a few extra days of rest after playing in friendlies for his country during the month of June and is scheduled to arrive at CT Joaquim Grava on the 29th.

During the interruption of the national calendar due to the World Cup, Corinthians will have an extended period of preparation under the command of Fernando Diniz. The technical committee will have practically a month to work on the team before the competitions resume.

In the meantime, the club has already confirmed a friendly against Cascavel. The match will be held on July 12th, at 4pm, at the Jacy Miguel Scanagatta Regional Olympic Stadium, in Paraná.

The return to official commitments is scheduled for July 23rd. For the 19th round of the Brazilian Championship, Corinthians hosts Remo at Neo Química Arena, in a duel scheduled for 7:30 pm.
