The episode took place on June 10, after the comedian watched a New York Knicks match against the San Antonio Spurs. On the way out of the arena, streamer FinesseFave approached Seinfeld and asked him to say "Free Palestine." The actor initially laughed and then responded, "That doesn't exist." The moment was broadcast live, cropped and quickly shared on social media. The speech reignited discussions about Seinfeld's public position in relation to Israel and Palestine. According to the article, he had already said in another public address, in February 2025, that he "doesn't care about Palestine". The previous September, during a surprise appearance at Duke University, he also criticized the "Free Palestine" movement. After the October 7 attacks, Seinfeld posted on Instagram that he lived and worked on a kibbutz in Israel at age 16 and that he would always support Israel and the Jewish people. In an April 2024 interview, he stated that he does not take the topic into his comedy, but that his personal feelings are "very strong".
