James Rodríguez projects Colombian to win Ballon d'Or

Former São Paulo and Real Madrid player, James Rodríguez projected Luis Díaz as the winner of the Ballon d'Or, especially if the Colombian team wins the unprecedented World Cup title - or at least reaches the final.

The national team's number 10 was asked when the delegation arrived in the United States about the possibility of the award for his teammate.

"Luis Díaz as Ballon d'Or? Why not? For me, he's already in the top 5 in the world at the moment. If we reach the final, he could win the Ballon d'Or. This group has a lot of dreams and a lot of desire. There's talent and quality. Why not dream of a grand final? It's something we all want too," he said, as Colombia arrived for the World Cup.

James Rodríguez is number 10 and the great attraction of this Colombian generation. Bayern striker Luis Díaz is the main highlight in a high-level issue at the moment.

Colombia is in Group K of the World Cup with Portugal, Uzbekistan and DR Congo. The South American team's debut will be against the Uzbeks, on Wednesday (17), at 11pm (Brasília time). The match will be held at the Azteca Stadium, in Mexico City.
