Creator of Passinho do Jamal, 25-year-old Romero Júnior from Recife has begun a new phase of his career.
He released his first song as a singer and closed a deal to include the dance in Fortnite, in an attempt to transform the repercussion on the networks into new sources of income.
The shift in his career comes amid debates about recognition and authorship of dance (find out more at the end of the article).
Dancer turned singer
Until then only known for his choreography, Romero now wants to be recognized as a singer as well.
The debut took place with "Quadrilha do Jamal", released at the beginning of June in partnership with MC Harpa and producer JS Mão de Ouro, known for work with artists such as Pedro Sampaio, Pabllo Vittar and Xand Avião. Morocco doing his little step at the World Cup", says the producer.

For MC Harpa, there was a lack of a song that officially represented the success of the choreography, marked by the alternation of the hands in movements that go up and down towards the chest.

Passinho invades Fortnite
Another bet to expand the presence of Passinho do Jamal was the arrival of choreography to Fortnite, one of the most popular games in the world.
According to producer Manoel Mattos, who works with Jamal, Epic Games approached the team to facilitate the agreement, concluded after around three months of negotiations.
At the time, international vehicles mistakenly identified Brazilian influencer Arthur Reis as the creator of Passinho do Jamal after he appeared alongside the American streamer Speed.

The episode generated a strong repercussion on social media.
One of the most shared posts was published by content creator and activist Flora Rodrigues, who questioned why the true author of the dance remained without international recognition even after the global success of passinho.

For JS Mão de Ouro, however, this "hype" that passinho is receiving can still be converted into lasting professional opportunities.
"I don't think he completely missed the opportunity to monetize. He's taking advantage of this moment of success in his own way. He's a smart guy, but he needs to have people at his side giving him direction", he concludes.
