Called up for the training period of the Brazilian Women's Team held in Itu, Ivana Fuso returned to wearing the yellow jersey after around three years. The Corinthians side participated in the activities led by Arthur Elias alongside six other athletes from the club and spoke about returning to the national team, the decision to represent Brazil despite being able to play for other teams and the expectation of continuing in the cycle towards the 2027 Women's World Cup.
Initially, the player celebrated the opportunity to return to the Brazilian team and explained that the sequence of injuries and the lack of minutes during her time in English football made it difficult for new call-ups.

"I was very happy to return, because it had been a long time. It was a dream of mine to return, to take advantage of the opportunities. That was my focus, a dream that was here. I wasn't called up before due to injuries and other situations that happened in England, where I didn't play frequently."
Born in Germany, daughter of a Brazilian mother and an Italian father, Ivana had the possibility of playing for three national teams. After all her training in the German youth categories, the athlete explained why she chose to represent Brazil in the main category.
"I was born in Germany, my mother is Brazilian, my father is Italian; my mother is from Bahia and my father is from Sicily. It's a mix, right? I can play for Brazil, Germany and Italy. Today I have dual nationality: Brazilian and German. I was a full base player in the German national team, from U-15 to U-20, including the World Cup and Euro Cup. I was captain there.
Then I was called up to the main team at the time of Pia (Sundhage). This was my first call-up to the Brazilian team, in the SheBelieves Cup. I played friendly games and she started calling me. I never imagined I would play for Brazil, because I was part of the German national team.
The opportunity arose in Brazil, to play for Corinthians, and I wanted to return to the national team, German or Brazilian, but my heart is more for Brazil than for Germany. As I didn't often play games abroad, I ended up coming. It was a dream of mine to return."
During the training period, Ivana shared activities with Nicole, Ana Morganti, Ana Vitória, Andressa Alves, Jaqueline and Jhonson. According to the side, the experience was important to learn even more about the Seleção's game model and strengthen the relationship with Arthur Elias.
"Today I'm playing as a winger at Corinthians, a very different position from mine, which is striker. This training call is really cool to understand Brazil's game model, get to know and be closer to Arthur and the players who could be in next year's World Cup. At the club, we score in zone, we don't stay in the duel, following the opposing player. Physically, we have to be strong."
The athlete also commented on the characteristics she developed throughout her career, highlighting the influence of German football and Brazilian football on her style of play.
"I've been half German, half Brazilian. From Germany, I bring tactical discipline, the quick game, fewer touches on the ball, one-two, deep passes and reading the game. Here, in Brazil, it's more technical, with the importance of one-on-one as a winger. But, when I played as number 10, I also really liked one-on-one."
After the period with the Brazilian team, Ivana has already returned to Corinthians for the Brabas interseason. The squad led by Emily Lima continues to prepare for the resumption of competitions after the break for the Men's World Cup. The team's next official appointment is scheduled for July 17th, against Ferroviária, in Fazendinha, in the fourth round of the Campeonato Paulista Feminino.
