IT'S FAKE: Viral video shows dog and cat together, positioned in such a way as to cause an optical illusion

Circulating on social media, with millions of views, likes and comments, a video that shows a dog and a cat lying together, with the cat above the dog's head. As both animals have black fur, the proximity and the way the animals are positioned makes it seem like they are one animal, with the eyes of a cat, and the snout and mouth of a dog. It's #FAKE.

The content, which gained momentum at the beginning of June, draws attention because the creatures together look like another animal that is difficult to identify, causing a visual impact in the first few seconds. "What a scare" and "aberration" are some of the comments in response to the post, which went viral on X and Threads.
What's the post like?
At first glance, a creature with the eyes of a cat, but the snout and teeth of a dog. After a few seconds of "close-up" on the animal, the cat's "eyes" move and reveal that, in fact, there are two animals: a feline lying on top of a dog's face, both with dark, short hair.
The dog remains lying down, with an expression that resembles a smile and its mouth partially open, while the cat continues to sit on top of it. Towards the end, the frame shows both of them in full: the cat gets up and sits next to the dog, who continues lying down looking up.
On X, the publication already has more than 4.4 million views and 112 thousand likes. On Threads, it has accumulated 68.1 thousand likes, 3.5 reposts and 16.3 thousand shares.
Why is it fake?
The appearance of the animals seems real, but a frame-by-frame analysis of the video shows a deformation in the cat's snout, with the tongue very close to the nostrils. The animals' movements are robotic and calculated, which indicates that it is a video generated by artificial intelligence. The soft aspect of the image and the irregular continuity of the sofa on which the animals appear lying also raise suspicions, inconsistencies typical of this type of production. In another moment, the cat appears with five legs.

Explanation of the check
The technical analysis of the video indicates that it was created with artificial intelligence. Verification tools indicate a high probability of synthetic generation, "Globo" consulted the Hive Moderation system which identified a 99.6% chance of the content being produced by AI.
