What is the video like?
The video went viral on social networks such as Instagram, TikTok, X and Facebook on the eve of Valentine's Day 2026, celebrated this Friday (12).
The scene initially shows cars traveling down a street. On the sidewalk, an orange cat appears walking while carrying a live game in its mouth. At one point, he stops and leaves her on the curb, after seeing a white cat receiving affection from a black cat.
Text boxes superimposed on the images say things like: "You just want to know about this brunette"; "I was even bringing you a little gift"; and "The cat arriving with the cat's meal. Have you ever felt like this cat?". On the X, a caption states: "The betrayed cat even lost its hunger."
In the comments section, there are messages from people who seemed to believe in the veracity of the content. See three examples: "Tadinho. It was really sad"; "I felt the disappointment in the kitten's eye"; and "He seeing, lowering his gaze... cut my heart."
⚠ Why is it #FAKE?
Fato ou Fake submitted the video to the Hive Moderation tool, which detects content manufactured with artificial intelligence (AI). Analysis result: 99.9% probability that this resource was used to manufacture the material (see infographic below).

To find the origin of the scene, Fato ou Fake used the InVID platform and fragmented the clip into several frames (static images). Then, he searched for these "photos" on search engines such as Google Lens, TinEye and Baidu.
This action allows you to find out since when content has been circulating on the internet - and the context of the original publication. The tracking indicated that one of the oldest publications went live this Tuesday (9), on Facebook.
It contains text boxes superimposed on the scenes with expressions in Chinese such as: "One day, while driving in Zhongli..."; and "Some things end before they even begin." There is no indication that the cats are male or female.
This Facebook record displays a seal in the top left corner indicating the use of AI, an alert that was suppressed in later posts.
There is also a watermark in the top right corner mentioning an account on another social network, Threads.
Thanks to the watermark, Fato ou Fake was able to reach the Threads account and send a message, in English, to the profile owner - he describes himself as a creator of generative AI and AI tutorials.
By message, the person explained the method applied to manufacture the material:
"Yes, all the videos were created by ourselves For this particular video, the scene was a real photo taken in my neighborhood. Then, I used GPT-Image-2 to insert a cat and a mouse in the scene. The positioning of the GPT wasn't perfect, so I used Photoshop to adjust the positions and sizes of the cats. Finally, with a good photo as a base image (starting frame), I used SeeDance 2.0 to generate the video.
