What does the fake video look like?
Published on X on April 28, the post has the following caption, in English: "A dog comes home with a dirty toy, but it's not a real toy."
The description omits that this is content made with artificial intelligence (AI), as evidenced by detectors of scenes created with this feature (see details below).
While the scenes are displayed, text boxes superimposed on the images say: "My dog brought a dirty toy from outside. It wasn't a toy. It was a real panda cub. I dried him off properly. He also seemed to be very hungry. Who knew? A dog and a panda sleeping together. A few weeks passed and he got bigger. My daughter likes him too. Apparently, it was his mother.
The content's soundtrack is the song "Someone you loved", by Lewis Capaldi.
Among the 635 comments, in different languages, users seem to believe the story or at least suggest doubt. See three examples: "Is this true? How is this possible?"; "Dog bringing home a dirty 'toy' that turns out to be a panda - cutest twist ever! Purely healthy chaos"; and "If it's true, it's really funny."
The account that published the video has been registered in Hong Kong since 2024 and changed its name in February 2026.
⚠ Why is it #FAKE?
Fato ou Fake used the InVID platform to fragment the video into several frames (static images). It then submitted these "photos" to three AI detectors - and they all pointed out the use of this feature. See the results of the analyzes (and infographics below):
Hive Moderation - 99.9% probability that the scenes are synthetic.
Detectvideo AI - "multiple forensic signals are high, resulting in a 61% probability of AI/manipulation."
SightEngine - 56% probability that the material contains AI.
Fato ou Fake submitted the video to the Hive Moderation artificial intelligence detector. The tool pointed out that there is a 99.9% probability that the scenes were generated by AI.

To discover the origin of the video, Fato ou Fake performed a reverse search for each of the frames in search engines, such as Google Lens. This research allows us to know whether the images had previously circulated on the internet - and in what context.
The results indicated that the oldest versions have been live since March 6th. They also attest that they were not published on reliable sources, such as journalistic websites or official pages of institutions, capable of adding factual context to the scenes and explaining when and where they occurred.
