"It could be that in the future I will be the owner of a club", says Leila Pereira

Leila Pereira's second term as president of Palmeiras ends in December 2027 and, for now, the director has no intention of going to another club. For now.

When talking about her own future, Leila admitted her desire to become the owner of a club.

"I wouldn't go to another club. Not for now. But in the future, I'll tell you something, I believe in corporate clubs. It could be that in the future I'll be the owner of a club. You know? Look what a spectacle. You don't need to ask for a vote. I don't have that patience anymore", he said in an interview with Globo News.

The president, who has held the presidency of Palmeiras since 2021, once again said that she did not dream of this position, as she has said in previous interviews. And, just like what happened in Alviverde, he will let life present opportunities.

No. Life presents opportunities for you, you know? I often say: 'Life is one big sock'. Life passes the ball to you and you have to kick hard. I shoot hard, I don't miss the goal. Leila also highlighted that she considers courage an indispensable attribute to occupy the position of president, as well as humility.

"I think it's a great virtue, I think, of the human being, humility. You have to put your feet on the ground. Because, sometimes, people sit in the chair I sit in, they think they own the world and they don't. You can't achieve absolutely anything alone. And courage. You have to have courage, you have to make a decision, you know? It's your decision. I listen to people, but when it comes to deciding, the decision is extremely lonely. I have to decide", he added.
