At least eight people died in separate Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon this Wednesday (3), according to Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health.

The ministry's Emergency Operations Center reported that an Israeli airstrike on the city of Housh in the Tire district killed six people, including four Syrian citizens and two Palestinians.

On another occasion, the ministry reported that an Israeli strike directly hit an al-Risala Scout Association ambulance in the city of Shahour, killing two paramedics and seriously injuring a third, who was taken to surgery.

The Ministry of Health condemned the attack on the ambulance, describing it as "inhumane and barbaric" and a violation of international humanitarian law, which guarantees the protection of healthcare professionals.

The ministry called on international organizations and the international community to take measures to prevent what it described as systematic violations. He also paid tribute to the rescuers who continue to work in areas under bombing, committed to saving lives despite the lack of protection.

Negotiations underway
The attacks take place amid negotiations between representatives of Israel and Lebanon in Washington, USA.

The US State Department confirmed that the talks, which began on Tuesday (2), will continue this Wednesday, after both sides have made progress.

"Progress continues on political and security tracks as we move away from the failures of the past 20 years and move toward a comprehensive agreement aimed at restoring Lebanon's sovereignty and ensuring Israel's security," State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott said on social media.

The discussions take place amid ongoing attacks between Israel and Hezbollah and the threat of escalation by Benjamin Netanyahu's government.

The Israeli Prime Minister said on Monday (1st) that the country's Armed Forces would continue attacking southern Lebanon "as planned", hours after President Donald Trump declared that Israeli forces would not advance on Beirut.
