An Israeli air strike against a Palestinian police post left at least five police officers dead in the Gaza Strip this Saturday (23), according to local police.
A statement from the Gaza police directorate states that two missiles hit a police post in the Al-Tawam area, in the north. The authority is responsible for maintaining security in areas that came under the control of the terrorist group Hamas after an October ceasefire.
"Five martyrs, all police officers, and several injured people - one of them in critical condition - arrived at the hospital after an Israeli airstrike that hit a police post in the al-Tuam area", reported al-Shifa Hospital, in Gaza City.
Israel had not yet commented until the last update of this report. An Israeli military source told AFP that the Israeli army had attacked "Hamas terrorists" in the area.
