Israel warns of intensifying fighting against Hezbollah
The Israeli military has said it is preparing for attacks from Lebanon toward northern Israel as its troops advance into southern Lebanon in operations against Hezbollah.
Despite the US-brokered ceasefire agreed between the governments of Israel and Lebanon in April, clashes between Hezbollah and Israeli forces have intensified.
The Israel Defense Forces warned the population of the north of the country this Saturday (30) to remain vigilant, after recording 20 projectile launches from Lebanon since midnight. Some projectiles were intercepted and others fell in the open; There were no reports of injuries.
Hezbollah said on Saturday it had fired rockets at the northern Israeli city of Kiryat Shmona "in defense of Lebanon and its people, and in response to the Israeli enemy's violation of the ceasefire."
In total, Hezbollah claimed 14 attacks on Saturday: 12 in southern Lebanon and two inside Israel.
On Saturday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reissued evacuation warnings for residents of 13 villages, ordering people to move north of the Zahrani River, about 40 kilometers north of the border.
The intensification of fighting between Israel and Hezbollah could put at risk any agreement between the United States and Iran, which insists on the inclusion of a ceasefire in Lebanon.
US President Donald Trump told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last week that he supported "freedom of action against threats on all fronts, including Lebanon," an Israeli official told CNN.
Netanyahu said on Friday that Israeli forces had crossed the Litani River in Lebanon, which is about 30 kilometers (approximately 19 miles) north of the border between the two countries.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam accused Israel of "not only attacking specific areas, but also of implementing a policy of widespread destruction and carrying out mass displacements" within the country.
"This war was imposed on us, and its cost today is high," Salam said in a televised speech, adding that "Israel will not achieve security through destruction."
