Israel says "Tehran must burn" after intercepting Iranian missiles

Israel's Minister of National Security, the far-right politician Itamar Ben-Gvir, posted on Sunday night (7) on his account on the X network, shortly after Iran began launching missiles at Israel.

Ben-Gvir's post contained a single sentence: "Tonight, Tehran must burn!"

The Israeli military reported that it had identified missiles launched from Iran towards Israeli territory and added that defense systems were operating to intercept the threat.

According to the country's ambulance service, the MDA, there were no immediate reports of injuries.

Last week, Iran threatened to attack Israel directly if the country carried out attacks on Beirut. Earlier this Sunday, Israel attacked the Lebanese capital in response to Hezbollah fire on northern Israel.
