Israel and Lebanon continue negotiations this Wednesday (3) in the USA

Representatives from Israel and Lebanon will resume negotiations mediated by the United States in Washington, D.C., this Wednesday (3). The first round of conversations took place on Tuesday (2).

The US State Department confirmed that talks will continue on Wednesday, after both sides have made progress.

"Progress continues on political and security tracks as we move away from the failures of the past 20 years and move toward a comprehensive agreement aimed at restoring Lebanon's sovereignty and ensuring Israel's security," State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott said on social media.

The discussions take place amid ongoing attacks between Israel and Hezbollah and the threat of escalation by Benjamin Netanyahu's government.

The Israeli Prime Minister said on Monday (1st) that the country's Armed Forces would continue attacking southern Lebanon "as planned", hours after President Donald Trump declared that Israeli forces would not advance on Beirut.
