The widower of influencer Isabel Veloso, Lucas Borbas, 27, reacted to the attacks after the announcement of his engagement to speech therapist Diulia Loregian.

The relationship between Lucas and Diulia has been shrouded in controversy since the beginning, as the influencer took on his new girlfriend less than three months after Isabel's death.

After the engagement was announced, internet users reacted negatively to the news. On Instagram, Lucas stated this Saturday (27) that he will take legal action in relation to virtual attacks. "All criticism is a right. Attacks, insults, defamation and persecution are not," he wrote.

Lucas shared one of the hateful messages received by a family member and commented: "My family doesn't have to pay for my choices, much less for the decision to move on, be happy and live a dignified life, without stepping on anyone."

"Don't confuse freedom of expression with freedom to commit verbal violence. Whether you hate me or not, I'll be happy," he said.

Remember who Isabel Veloso was
Isabel began her digital career after being diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma, at the age of 15. She rose to fame by sharing her battle with the terminal illness on social media.

Over time, she went through moments of improvement and worsening of her condition that resulted in her death.

In the last months of 2024, Isabel and Lucas got married and, the following year, the two became parents of Arthur, who is just one year old.

The pregnancy was also the target of criticism, as many internet users believed that the decision to become pregnant with a terminal illness would have a negative impact on the baby.
