Midfielder Arthur entered Corinthians' radar at the request of coach Fernando Diniz. Although negotiations have not progressed due to the player's high salary request, recent numbers help to explain the black and white interest in the 29-year-old athlete.

Currently linked to Juventus, in Italy, Arthur recently ended his loan period at Grêmio and has played 23 games this season. During the period, he scored one goal and distributed two assists.

In addition to his offensive participation, the midfielder recorded 28 decisive passes and achieved 93% pass accuracy, one of the main indicators of his ability to maintain possession of the ball and participate in the construction of plays.

The defensive numbers also draw attention. Arthur contributed to five clean sheets and racked up 22 tackles, 14 interceptions and three blocked shots throughout the season.

Arthur's numbers for the season:

The main obstacle in the conversations between Corinthians and Arthur is the player's high salary request, considered above Timão's financial reality. The club, however, continues to monitor the situation and does not rule out a new move if the athlete also agrees to reduce his wages.

At the moment, the Corinthians board's priority is to overturn FIFA's transfer ban in order to re-register players. The Parque São Jorge club was punished due to a debt of US$1.5 million (R$7.7 million at current prices) with the Philadelphia Union, from the United States, for the acquisition of midfielder José Martínez, in 2024.

Arthur left Grêmio about a month ago, after the end of his loan period. The parties have not reached a financial agreement to renew the contract.

The midfielder's contract with Juventus is valid until the middle of 2027. Therefore, the most viable alternative for Corinthians to complete the agreement would be a new loan to Brazilian football.
