"What he's going to do is, little by little, stop talking about the ballistic missile program, stop talking about proxies," Zahreddine said.
The strategy, according to him, would involve trying to "naturalize" these issues and present as an achievement the guarantee that Iran will "never have nuclear weapons again", in addition to seeking a longer negotiation period than previously obtained.
Zahreddine added that Trump may try to compensate for the diplomatic strain caused by American and Israeli military actions against Iran by creating new fronts of international attention - such as, for example, a possible crisis involving Cuba - in what the expert called a "multi-arena game".
