Iranian official says there are no plans to travel to Switzerland in the next few days

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei denied recent reports suggesting that Geneva, Switzerland, would soon be the site of the signing of a truce between the US and Iran.

"The exact moment of the signing must be awaited; however, there are no travel plans to Geneva or anywhere else in the coming days," Baghaei said on Saturday (13), according to the semi-official Tasnim News Agency, which is affiliated with the IRGC (Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps).

The logistics of the imminent signing of a memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran are still unclear. Options mentioned by U.S. and Iranian officials include a "remote" signing of the deal, possibly followed by an in-person joint signing at a later date.

Baghaei, however, stated that both parties "have never been so close to an understanding."
