The state-run Fars news agency said on Wednesday (3) that Iran attacked a United States military ship housing a "command and control center" as it approached Iranian territorial waters in the Gulf of Oman.

The attack was allegedly carried out by the Iranian Navy, following what Fars classified as aggressive actions, violation of Strait of Hormuz regulations and "evil acts" against Iranian commercial vessels by the US.

The United States Central Command, in turn, denied that the attack took place.

"Iran is lying. US military assets at sea continue to fly, sail and operate safely and without hindrance", highlighted the US Army in a publication on X.

Negotiations to end the war
Amid reports of attacks, negotiations for a definitive end to the war continue.

US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he and Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei "appear to be getting along very well" - despite Khamenei not having been seen in public since the start of the US war in Iran.

When asked by the American newspaper New York Post about the supreme leader's health, Trump replied: "I haven't heard that he's well."
