Iran warns of "more devastating" response if Israel attacks Lebanon
Iran has warned it will carry out "more devastating" attacks against Israel if Israeli forces continue attacking southern Lebanon and Beirut, according to Iranian state broadcaster Press TV.
The Iranian regime accused Israel of acting "with the green light and support of criminal America" and claimed that the country "crossed all red lines" in the ongoing conflict with Hezbollah in Lebanon.
According to the Press TV report, the Iranian military command warned that Israeli forces must stop attacks on southern Lebanon and the suburb of Beirut, considered a Hezbollah stronghold.
"If it expands its attacks on this region or responds to Iran's actions, it will face even more devastating and regretful blows and devastating attacks will be launched," the statement added.
Israeli forces said they intercepted missiles fired by Iran this Sunday. The population was advised to remain close to shelters, given the possibility of a serious escalation of the conflict between Israel and Iran.
Last week, Iran threatened to attack Israel directly if the country carried out attacks on Beirut. Earlier this Sunday, Israel attacked the Lebanese capital in response to Hezbollah fire.
