Iran says it is "reviewing" negotiations with the US after new attacks

Iran is "reevaluating" negotiations with the United States in light of the American attacks on Tehran on Tuesday (9), said Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei, cited by SNN (Iranian Student News Network).

Baghai accused the US and Israel of "repeated violations of the ceasefire" and said diplomacy cannot "occur in a vacuum", adding that "a minimum environment conducive to its functioning" is necessary for negotiations to move forward.

"Unfortunately, the United States is undermining this process through contradictory messages, frequent changes in its positions and demands, as well as through repeated violations of the ceasefire," he said, adding that Israel has also demonstrated bad faith through recurring attacks on Lebanon.

In the most recent exchange of fire, Iran said last night it had launched retaliatory attacks against American targets in the region after being targeted by US fire.

The American military said it had completed strikes against Iran, which it said were in response to the downing of an Army helicopter.
