Iran negotiator on US deal: 'We don't trust guarantees or words; just actions'
Iran's war completes three months with a new wave of attacks in the midst of the ceasefire
Iran's main negotiator, President of Parliament Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, did not confirm this Friday (29) that the country had reached an agreement with the United States, but made it clear that the climate of extreme distrust between them continues.
In a post on the social network X, the Iranian stated that Tehran remains prepared to resume the war if necessary:
"We do not trust in assurances or words; only actions are valid measures, and no action will be taken before the other party acts.
According to press sources, the United States and Iran reached an agreement to extend the ceasefire between them and lift restrictions on navigation through the Strait of Hormuz this Thursday (28).

When speaking regarding the negotiations, Qalibaf said that the Trump administration agreed to make concessions, but that they were obtained through Iranian military power, and not through dialogue.
"We obtain concessions not with dialogue, but with missiles. During the negotiation, we just explain them to them," he said.

According to a report on the American website "Axios", the only thing missing for the authorities of both countries to announce the extension of the truce between them is the approval of the president of the USA, Donald Trump.
Despite the apparent progress in the negotiations, the current proposal is not yet a final agreement, which will require even more intense negotiations to address Trump's demands on uranium enrichment.
Amid the negotiations, the USA and Iran exchanged attacks. Although they were limited, they revealed the fragility of the ceasefire, in force since the beginning of April, and of diplomatic attempts to reach an agreement to end the war.
