Iran executes man accused of spying during war with US and Israel

A man accused of passing on information about Iran's defense industry to the United States and Israel was hanged this Sunday (24), the Judiciary website reported.
"Mojtaba Kian (...), who passed on information to the enemy related to the country's defense industry units, was hanged this morning", reported Mizan Online.
According to the source, the man provided Israelis and Americans with data on Iranian defensive capabilities during the war that broke out in February, following the offensive of these two countries against the Islamic Republic.

Since the start of the conflict, there have been many executions in Iran, mainly in cases of espionage or threats to national security, but for older crimes. This is the first execution directly related to this war.
According to authorities, a peace agreement to put a definitive end to the confrontation is close. The President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated this Saturday (23) that a "memorandum of understanding on peace has been extensively negotiated" with authorities from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan and Bahrain, and is just awaiting finalization.
According to the American website Axios, the proposal involves an extension of the ceasefire for 60 days, during which the Strait of Hormuz would definitely be reopened. Iran could sell oil freely, and negotiations would be held to limit Iran's nuclear program.
