Iran confirms attack on US military bases in Kuwait and Bahrain

Iran confirmed this Saturday (27) that it attacked United States military bases located in Kuwait and Bahrain. The information was released by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

According to the statement, the offensive used missiles and drones and targeted American military installations in both countries. The attack was presented by Tehran as a response to recent military actions by the United States against Iran.

The Revolutionary Guard said the operation was conducted by naval and aerospace forces and accused Washington of violating the ceasefire. According to the group, the American attacks "will result in the complete paralysis of all diplomatic processes."

Iran's offensive comes hours after CENTCOM (US Central Command) reported that the US Armed Forces carried out more attacks against Iranian targets in the vicinity of the Strait of Hormuz.

In a post on the social network X, CENTCOM stated that the attack took place after Iran launched a drone that hit a Panamanian-flagged oil tanker this Saturday morning.

The U.S. military reported that military aircraft targeted Iranian military surveillance infrastructure, communications systems, air defense sites, drone storage facilities and mine-laying capabilities.

The transit of commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz should continue normally, the note added.
