Internationally awarded Tina Turner musical is showing in SP
"Tina - Tina Turner The Musical" is showing at Teatro Santander, in São Paulo, and reminds spectators of the importance that the singer had in the history of world music.
The show debuted in London, in 2018, with production signed by the singer herself. It arrived on Broadway, in New York, and has been nominated 12 times for the Tony Awards - including Best Musical -, the main award in the North American theater industry.
The assembly in São Paulo is a replica that maintains the original.
In the Brazilian version, the actresses Analu Pimenta and Carol Roberto play Tina Turner, while César Mello takes on the role of Ike Turner, the singer's creative and loving partner in her early years.
The story is told using iconic songs from the star's career, such as "We Don't Need Another Hero", "The Best, What's Love Got To Do With It?", "Private Dancer" and "River Deep, Mountain High", as well as featuring brilliant costumes.
