Interest rates are biased downward amid expectations of a ceasefire

Future interest rates opened high this Monday (8), but lost strength and at around 9:20 am the bias was downward, in line with the dollar.

In addition, oil and Treasury yields reduced the rise seen earlier after US President Donald Trump said on Monday that Israel and Iran were seeking an immediate ceasefire.

Iran announced the suspension of its military operations against Israel, but warned that it will take further action if new Israeli attacks occur against Lebanon, expanding the scope of its deterrence strategy in the region.

After two months of truce, Israel and Iran exchanged fire again this Monday (8).

At 9:22 am, the DI (interbank deposit) rate for January 2027 was 14.375%, from 14.392% in the previous adjustment.

The DI for January 2029 dropped to 14.735%, from 14.741%, and that for January 2031 went to 14.625%, from 14.650% in Friday's adjustment (5).
