Integrated operation causes losses of R$213 million to organized crime

Operation Brazil Against Organized Crime released, this Friday (22), a summary of the activities carried out between the 11th and 21st of May in the country's border regions. According to the data, the operation's actions could generate losses of more than R$213 million for organized crime.

The action was coordinated by the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP), through the National Public Security Secretariat (Senasp). The work was conducted by the Directorate of Integrated Operations and Intelligence (Diopi), through the General Coordination of Borders and Amazon (CGFRON), and took place in an integrated manner in the 27 units of the Federation.

In relation to arrests and seizures, 242 arrests were recorded in total, 167 of which were caught in the act and 75 by court warrant. 67 court orders were also served across the country.

During the week, 39 investigations were opened, of which eight have already been concluded. To carry out the activities and choke off logistical routes, 260 blitzes and 104 operations were carried out with intelligence support.

The operation directly impacted the organized crime economy. During the actions, 59,114 kg of marijuana were seized, more than 613 kg of cocaine and base paste, in addition to 373 kg of skunk. 40 shotguns, 19 revolvers, 12 pistols, 5 machine guns and 3 rifles were also confiscated, in addition to more than 89 thousand ammunition.

In 10 days, more than 5 thousand people and more than two thousand vehicles were approached by police teams.

Operation Brazil Against Organized Crime is part of a national strategy of the Federal Government aimed at the qualified confrontation of criminal organizations, combating crimes at borders and the financial weakening of factions.
