Influencer who exchanged Roblox coins for pornography is arrested in SC
A 24-year-old influencer, known mainly among children and young people, was arrested this Tuesday (30) in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, under investigation for asking young people for pornographic photos and videos in exchange for virtual coins from the game Roblox.
The suspect produced content for the public mainly about electronic games and accumulated more than 200 thousand followers on the digital platforms Instagram, Tiktok, Youtube and Discord.
Civil police officers from São Paulo and Santa Catarina, responsible for the operation that served the temporary arrest warrant, found a computer and a cell phone in his house. Child and adolescent pornography content was found on the equipment, considered a crime in article 241-B of the Child and Adolescent Statute.
How was he discovered?
Investigations began after the family of a 10-year-old child told police about child grooming. By making content for children and teenagers, he had direct access to them, which facilitated criminal activity.
According to the police, the person being investigated promised the delivery of Robux, a virtual currency used in the game Roblox, as well as help in increasing followers on social media. In return, the victims had to send photographs and videos of sexual content to the influencer.
As soon as he received the first images, he threatened and coerced the young people to send new materials, otherwise he would tell the families of the respective victims about the facts.
It was possible to identify another minor who was also subjected to the same modus operandi, indicating that the family's initial complaint was not punctual.
Based on the analysis of the seized equipment, teams will be able to identify other affected people and locate other illicit materials.
The Civil Police advises that any victims who have not yet spoken out contact a police unit, with the guarantee of protection and accountability measures.
The operation was carried out by the 4th Pedophilia Repression Police Station of the DHPP of the Civil Police of São Paulo, by the Drug Repression Police Station and the IT Crime Repression Police Station of the Civil Police of Santa Catarina, in addition to the Scientific Police of Santa Catarina.

The crime of child pornography carries a penalty of 1 to 4 years in prison.
It applies to anyone who acquires, possesses or stores materials that contain any recordings of sex or pornography involving children and adolescents.
However, if the person is keeping the material with the intention of communicating or reporting the conduct to the authorities, the practice is not considered a crime.
