Income Tax 2026: See refund calendar and how to consult

The Federal Revenue opens, this Friday (22), the consultation of the 1st batch of Income Tax refund 2026. The consultation will open at 10am (Brasília time).

Payment for the first batch will be made next Friday, May 29th.

To make the query, the taxpayer needs to provide their CPF and date of birth and authenticate themselves on the Gov.br portal. The IRS predicts that this will be the largest batch of refunds ever paid, totaling R$16 billion in credits.

Taxpayers who have not yet filed their declaration have one week, as the deadline also ends next Friday.

How to check
To check whether the refund has been released, the taxpayer must:

- Access www.gov.br/receitafederal
- Click on "My Income Tax"
- Select "Consult my refund"

The query can also be made through the official Federal Revenue app for tablets and smartphones. The system offers:

- Simplified consultation;
- Complete consultation via e-CAC;
- Guidelines and service channels.

If pending issues are identified in the declaration, the taxpayer may rectify the incorrect information.

Refund calendar
The next batches of refunds will be paid on the following dates:

- May 29
- June 30
- July 31
- August 28

The Federal Revenue forecast is that the next batch will also cover around 9 million taxpayers, with refund values close to R$16 billion, thus totaling 80% of the estimated refunds to be paid this year.

Distribution of refunds

Of the total R$16 billion, around R$8.64 billion will be allocated to taxpayers with legal priority:

- 256,697 refunds for seniors over 80 years old;
- 2,256,975 refunds for seniors between 60 and 79 years old;
- 222,100 refunds for people with physical or mental disabilities or serious illnesses; teaching.

In addition, 4,959,431 refunds will be allocated to taxpayers who used the pre-filled declaration and chose to receive it via Pix.
