In video, Castro confirms withdrawal of pre-candidacy for the Senate by RJ

The former governor of Rio de Janeiro Cláudio Castro (PL) made official this Thursday (28) the withdrawal of his pre-candidacy for the Federal Senate in this year's elections.

In a video published on social media, Castro said that the decision aims to "focus completely" on his defense. The former governor was the target of operations by the PF (Federal Police), one of them involving Banco Master, owned by former banker Daniel Vorcaro.

Castro was being asked by party leaders to leave the race, in an attempt to avoid even more stress for Flávio Bolsonaro (RJ), senator and PL pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic - who was also mentioned in news involving Vorcaro and Banco Master.

As CNN showed, the PL is evaluating two names to replace it in the dispute: the party leader in the Chamber of Deputies, Sóstenes Cavalcante, and deputy Carlos Jordy, who is the author of a CPMI (Mixed Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry) request to investigate fraud at Banco Master.
