In friendlies, Corinthians women's team is surpassed by the United States Under-23 team

Over the course of last Friday (5) and this Tuesday afternoon (9), the Corinthians women's team faced the United States Under-23 team in two friendlies and were beaten 2 x 0 and 1 x 0, respectively. The first game took place at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava and the second, in turn, at the São Paulo base CT, in Cotia.

The information was initially released by the Meu Timão portal. Amid the break for the World Cup, which will take place between June 11th and July 19th, and consequently the period without games, coach Emily Lima took the opportunity to rotate the squad and give a chance to athletes who had not been playing regularly.

Corinthians did not publish the lineups used in the two matches, but photos were posted of Jhonson, Ivana Fuso, Letícia Monteiro, Rhaizza, Ana Vitória and Jaqueline. In this Tuesday's game, in Cotia, midfielder Gabi Zanotti, who was not on the field, published a photo watching the game in the stands of CT de Cotia.

It is worth remembering that the following were not available for the friendly: goalkeeper Lelê, defender Thaís Ferreira, midfielders Dayana Rodríguez, as well as attackers Belén Aquino and Gisela Robledo. They were called up to defend Brazil, Venezuela, Uruguay and Colombia, in the friendly games of Data Fifa and League of Nations, respectively by Conmebol.

Corinthians had already faced a youth team in 2018, when at the time led by Arthur Elias, they beat the Cameroon Under-17 team 5 x 1. On that occasion, the goals were scored by Gabi Zanotti, Ana Vitória, Diany, Millene and Marcela.

As Brabas will only officially return to the field in the week of July 17th, at Fazendinha, to face Ferroviária, in the fourth round of the classification phase of the 2026 Women's Paulista Championship. In the first three rounds, Timão scored four points.
