Brazil was beaten 1-0 by the United States this Tuesday (9), in a friendly held at Arena Castelão, in Fortaleza. The result interrupted the sequence of four victories of the team led by Arthur Elias, including a triumph over the North Americans, last Saturday (6).

This is the second clash between the teams on this FIFA Date in June. In the first duel, Tainá Maranhão and Bia Zaneratto scored in Brazil's 2-1 victory, in a game held at the Neo Química Arena. Sophia Wilson scored on the opposing side.

In the match in Fortaleza, a deflected shot on Isabela defined the positive result in favor of the North Americans. The friendly match was also marked by the high number of cards distributed: 14, four of which were red for Tarciane, Kerolin, Ludmila and Bia Zaneratto.

The match
The first dangerous shot of the match came in the 18th minute, with a free kick from striker Tainá Maranhão that went to the left of the opponent's goal. Then, at 20, the United States responded with Sophia Wilson, who dribbled around the marker and finished for a good save by goalkeeper Lorena.

The Brazilians found the net at the 38-minute mark, with defender Isa Haas, but the referee ruled the move was offside. In stoppage time, midfielder Lindsey Heaps threw it to striker Emma Sears, who invaded the area and hit the ball for Lorena's excellent defense. On the rebound, Wilson shot low and the goalkeeper performed a miracle at Castelão.

After the break, the United States came back better and had a good opportunity in the 10th minute. Sophia Wilson found a beautiful pass for midfielder Rose Lavelle, who crossed the ball and missed the target. Shortly afterwards, Wilson protected the defense and took a risk from outside the area. The ball deflected off the Isabela side and only ended up in the back of the net: 1-0 for the visitors.

In the 20th minute, the Americans launched a counterattack and midfielder Olivia Moultrie hit the post. Next, winger Trinity Rodman took advantage of a surplus in the area and filled his foot, but stopped in a great defense by Lorena. The Brazilian goal also caught another attempt from Sears, preventing the Americans from increasing their advantage on the scoreboard.

In the final stretch of the friendly, the atmosphere became heated and the referee started handing out cards. Arthur Elias received a straight red card, while Bia Zaneratto was warned with a second yellow card and also ended up expelled. In stoppage time, defender Tarciane hit the rival player in the face and received a red card. After the final whistle, Kerolin and Ludmila were the others who, due to complaints, ended up expelled.
