The pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic for the PL, senator Flávio Bolsonaro, spoke at a public hearing in the United States this Tuesday (7) about the new tariff.
On the occasion, he spoke in English and was accompanied by his brother, the impeached deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro - who lives in the United States.

The senator also mentioned that this is the "worst possible moment" for the application of the measure and defended the postponement.

On July 15th, the deadline for the USA to decide whether to implement additional tariffs on Brazilian products.
Flávio also spoke about corruption, criticized President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and defended PIX - an instant payment system created by the Central Bank (BC).
"Corruption is one of the biggest problems faced by the Brazilian people. There is no consensus on this, but corruption has identifiable perpetrators. The fraud involving the National Social Security Institute, the INSS, in which President Lula's own son is among those investigated", he stressed.

Flávio arrived at the second day of the hearing on tariffs in the USA at around 11 am - the scheduled start time for speeches -, but only started speaking at around 11:45 am, as there was an order of speeches listed.
Participation in public hearings promoted by the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) is open to interested parties who register - this is how Flávio Bolsonaro gained the space to speak at the event.
The senator sent the American authority a request to appear and a summary of the testimony he intends to make.
In the documents, Flávio asks for five minutes to speak, the standard time for participation in the event, and informs that he will speak in English and in person.
The politician presents himself as a member of the Federal Senate of Brazil and a pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic. He reports having met personally with Trump to discuss the topics of the investigation.
