Forward Igor Thiago admitted that anxiety hindered the Brazilian team in their 1-1 draw with Morocco, on Saturday night (13), for their debut in the 2026 World Cup.

"I can say yes (nervousness made it difficult). Most of us are in our first World Cup, the older ones have embraced us, put us in the right direction. In the end, everything will work out", promised the Brentford-ING player, in an interview at the exit from the field of the New York New Jersey Stadium, in the United States.

Then, the player evaluated the match and talked about what was missing for victory. "The result is part of it, we came looking for victory, we have to understand that (the Moroccan National Team) is a difficult team. Raise our heads, move on to the next game (...) The idea was very clear from what the coach asked on the field. We tried our best, we lacked concentration. It's about raising our heads", he concluded.

Igor Thiago was a surprise in coach Carlo Ancelotti's lineup for the inaugural hopscotch duel at the World Cup. The attacker left the field in the 17th minute of the second half, with two shots, one of which was on target.

Brazil's next match will be on Friday (19), at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), against Haiti, at Lincoln Financial Field, in Philadelphia. Scotland completes Group C of the World Cup.
